To Our Awesome Acadia Families,

I would like to welcome everyone to Acadia School for the 2023-2024 school year.  This has been a very busy start up for our Acadia School staff as we have many new students joining us for this school year.  We are currently at over 450 students enrolled at our school with more students waiting to join us.  We have been working hard to get these students into classrooms so all of our students are ready to start their learning journey with us.  We appreciate everyone’s patience as we have worked through all of these new registrations.

School starts tomorrow, Thursday, August 31 for a regular school day from 8:00am-2:40pm.  Teachers have worked hard to send out welcome emails to their new students explaining our first day of school processes.  All teachers will be out on the field tomorrow holding a sign with their name, room number and grade.  We will also have extra staff members outside with class lists to help direct any families that need help finding the appropriate teacher.  If your child will be going to the Adventures day care center at Acadia School please let your child’s teacher know so that they can ensure that they get to the Adventures program after school.  Also, if you have registered your child for bus transportation (for eligible bus students), please let your teacher know so that they can ensure that your child makes it to the bus after school.  Please know that if your child rides the bus, school staff take attendance of students arriving to school by bus and leaving school by bus everyday.  If your child is supposed to take the bus home after school but does not show up to the bus, they are considered to be a missing child so please let the office know if your child will not be taking the bus home every evening. 

For our Kindergarten students, Thursday, August 31 and Friday, September 1 are both staggered entry days with students and parents attending on Thursday for a short period of time and just students attending for a short period of time.  The schedule is as follows:

Last names N-Z	1:30 – 2:30 pm Parents stay at the school to fill out paperwork (1hour)	11:00 – 12:00 pm Students only (1 hour)

And finally, Friday, September 1 is also a regular day of school though it is a shortened school day for students from 8:00am-12:05pm.  These are regular Friday school hours for students.  Please note the early dismissal time and ensure that your child is picked up after school.  The school is not able to keep children after dismissal times. 

We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow morning out on the field for our first day of school.  Students will say goodbye to their families and enter into the building with their teachers and classmates when the entry bells ring at 8:00am.  We ask that parents remain outside so that your child can get used to the routine of entering school and starting their learning day independently.
