Pink Shirt Day at Acadia School
Pink Shirt Day began with a simple act of kindness in Halifax, when two students stood up for a peer who was not being treated with respect. That moment grew into a national movement, and today Canadians recognize Pink Shirt Day on the last Wednesday of February as a reminder to stand together against bullying.
At Acadia School, we wear pink to show our commitment to kindness, inclusion, and respect. This day aligns with our ongoing work—guided by Calgary Board of Education expectations and the Education Act—to foster welcoming, caring, safe, and respectful learning environments for all students.
Pink Shirt Day will be Tuesday, February 25, and it encourages conversations about how we can support one another and create a school community where everyone feels valued. Thank you for helping us continue to build a culture of care at Acadia School—not just on Pink Shirt Day, but every day.
