Acadia School is once again taking part in the annual Terry Fox Run. It will take place on Friday, September 13. For many of us, Terry’s story is well known. If you would like more information on Terry’s story, you can visit the Terry Fox Foundation website here. To date, the Terry Fox Foundation has raised over 850 million dollars for cancer research. As a school, we will be hosting an Awesome Acadian Assembly, starting at 8:00am on Friday, before warming up and proceeding to the field to participate in a school wide Terry Fox Run. We will accept any donations for the Terry Fox Fund all week, so students can bring their “Toonie for Terry” any day up to and including Friday Sept 13.

Parents/guardians, to ensure you receive important information from your child’s school and the Calgary Board of Education, please subscribe for commercial messages. You need to sign up each year to receive commercial electronic messages on school topics such as student fees, picture days, field trip costs, fun lunches and more.

Please remember that students arrive at school by walking, riding their bike, on the school bus and getting dropped off. To ensure everyone’s safety, please do not park in the crosswalk at 94 Ave and 5 St, or block the bus parking in front of the school 

Before school begins for the day, please call the school 403-777- 8440 to let us know if your child will be absent or late.  This will help us ensure that all Acadia students are safe and that their attendance record will be accurate. 

After you call the school: 

• press 1, and leave your message on the Attendance Line 
• please let us know your child’s first and last name (please spell the last name), teacher and the reason for the absence
