Variable Weather Reminder
As we eagerly anticipate the arrival of warmer weather, we want to remind everyone that the melting snow will create muddy conditions on our school grounds, and there may still be patches of snow and ice—especially on the sidewalks in the morning. To help your child stay dry and comfortable, please ensure they wear appropriate waterproof footwear and include an extra pair of dry socks in their backpack. We also ask that students clean off their shoes when entering the school to help maintain a clean environment.
Upcoming Events
In celebration of Pink Shirt Day on Wednesday, February 26, we are excited to involve the students in a special community-building activity at Acadia School. We are asking students to help us create a school-wide domino challenge using unopened cereal boxes. Our goal is to line up the cereal boxes to create a fun and exciting domino effect throughout the school. The best part? After the challenge, all the cereal boxes will be donated to the Food Bank to help those in need.
If you're able to, we kindly ask that your child brings in one unopened box of cereal to their classroom by Wednesday, February 26th. Your support will not only help us create a memorable event, but it will also allow Acadia School to give back to our community in a meaningful way.
Thank you for your generosity and for helping us make this challenge a success!
School Engagement Survey
I invite all families to participate in our annual School Planning Survey. This survey allows parents to give feedback on Acadia School's Annual School Development Plan, School Budget and School Fees. You can access the survey through Zencity.
You can also access the PowerPoint presentation that was shared with School Council at our last meeting on February 5 that further explains Acadia School's Budget, Fees and School Development Plan on our website.
The School Planning survey will be open for parent input from February 17 until February 28 at midnight. Results will be posted to our Acadia School website in April 2025.
Thank you for your input on these important areas of focus for our school.
Jump Rope for Heart
Our Awesome Acadian School is participating in our 2nd consecutive Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser! Last year, we jumped high by raising $1590, let’s see if we can do that again by March 7! As of now we have raised $1,440. Please find the Acadia School page and register your child. We will be discussing how to live a healthy lifestyle, how to detect if someone is having a stroke and feature students skipping at our Awesome Acadian Assemblies.
