A Message from our Principal  

I wanted to give our families some updates about our September enrollment.  We are currently have 457 students registered at Acadia School which is very exciting for our school as this is the largest group of students we have had at Acadia School in a very long time! We are starting to do some restructuring of classrooms to support these large enrollment numbers starting with grade one where we have divided our three grade one classrooms into four smaller classrooms from 11:00am-2:40pm and every second Friday.  Ms. Scharlach, our second Kindergarten morning teacher, is providing this support to the grade one classes after she finishes teaching her morning Kindergarten class.  We are still looking at staffing to help support our larger numbers in grade 5 with more information about this coming soon. 

As our enrollment numbers are so large, this is impacting our fire code restrictions for our gymnasium.  Currently our gymnasium is limited to 470 people in the gym at one time. With our total enrollment numbers and number of staff we are unfortunately no longer able to welcome any other visitors into the gym for our Friday Awesome Acadia Assemblies.  We will miss having our families being part of our assemblies but we encourage our students to share with our families what happens at our weekly assemblies and what it means to be an Awesome Acadian.
