WAG May 8-12 | Great Weather, Thank you School Council, Tennis, Every Kid can Play, Next Year, Dates

Happy Friday Acadia Families,

This past week we have had amazing weather, even making history with some record-breaking temperatures. Many teachers took this opportunity to take their students outside for their daily physical education, independent reading and movement breaks. We saw reading happening on the play structure, we saw kick ball playing in the ball diamond and we saw students sitting under the trees having a book read to them or reading their own novels. We love to see all the children enjoying being outside.

Again, we would like to say thank you to School Council for their hard work in getting us our amazing playground for not only our Acadia students to enjoy but also other community children. We are noticing that families are using the play structure and tarmac during school hours which we are happy to share, however according to the Education Act we ask that when our students come outside to use these areas, such as the playground structure, that families kindly find an alternative space until our students return back to class. For student’s security and safety this allows our supervisors (lunchroom supervisors and teachers) to ensure they have their full attention on our students. All adults on school property will have identification whether it is their CBE ID or a volunteer badge from the office.

Tennis Residency

Teachers have sent out or are beginning to send out invitations for volunteers to help with the Tennis residency. Each class is looking for 3 volunteers. If you are available to help out with your child class, please contact the teacher and they will double check that your security clearance is up to date. If you are willing to support other classes please contact Denean at dllanglois@cbe.ab.ca.

Every Kid Can Play | Funding Available for Families
