Friendship Dance & Sweetheart Day at Acadia School

Acadia School will be having an in-school Friendship Dance, a joyful event focused on kindness, community, and connection. Students will come together to enjoy music, movement, and the spirit of friendship in a fun and inclusive environment. The Friendship Dance is a wonderful opportunity for our school community to highlight the importance of caring for one another and building positive relationships.

Students will participate in the dance with peers in similar age groups:

  • Kindergarten–Grade 2
  • Grades 3–4
  • Grades 5–6

As with all school activities, staff will be present to support and monitor behaviour, ensuring that all students are safe, respectful, and able to enjoy the event in a positive and welcoming environment.

To add to the celebration, we invite all students to participate in Sweetheart Day by wearing pink, red, white, or heart‑themed clothing. This special dress‑up day is a simple way for students to express school spirit and join in the Valentine’s festivities. Other activities may occur in classrooms. Please ask your student about their class plans.

Both activities are designed to promote belonging and joy while aligning with Acadia School’s commitment to creating safe, welcoming spaces for all learners. We look forward to celebrating with our students and fostering the spirit of friendship throughout our school community.

A reminder that students should not bring candy to school to share tomorrow. While often a fun way to add food to an event, we have many allergies and sensitivities and do not permit sharing of treats between students.
