Attention school volunteers! Acadia school invites you to a volunteer appreciation event. Doors open at 10:30 AM, with a presentation from 11AM - 12 PM in the gym. We would love to see you and thank you for making field trips, Fun Lunches, special events and school council possible!

Next week we will welcome Louise Dumais on Tuesday and Thursday. She will work with our Kindergarten – grade 2 students on land based teachings, oral history and storytelling, and tipi teachings. Louise is from Kehewin First Nation, near Bonnyville, AB. She has worked with elders in her community to record and document the oral history and traditions of the Elders. Welcome, Louise!

Also on Thursday, Gina and Kyle Snow will be working with grade 3-6 students to learn some traditional hand games. Kyle is from Stoney First Nation, and Gina is from Tsuut’ina. We are excited to get active and learn new skills and sport!

Acadia School is part of Ever Active Schools, and we need your help! Our coordinator is finalizing the School Travel Plan (STP), a written document that identifies the local issues related to active travel and highlights ways to continue to encourage active school travel in the community. The are requesting input on a short survey.
