Volunteer Appreciation Invitation

We warmly invite family members who have generously volunteered at Acadia School this year—whether supporting reading, helping in the library, accompanying field trips, or contributing in other meaningful ways—to join us for a Volunteer Tea in appreciation of your time and dedication. Please join us on May 29 at 11:00 a.m. as we celebrate the positive impact you have made in our school community. We look forward to expressing our gratitude and sharing this special time together. Please see attached Volunteer Invitation

Rotary Bike Repair Day

We need volunteers! On Tuesday, May 26 Centennial Rotary Club will be at Acadia School doing free repairs to student bikes. We need volunteers for the following shifts:

  • 7:30-8:30 AM: volunteers will help students at bike racks to lock up their bikes, or bring them inside if necessary.
  • 8:30-11:30 AM and 11:30 AM -2:30 PM: volunteers help students bring in their bikes and manage student flow, and support Rotary Volunteers

2026-27 Bus Registration

Families are now able to apply for yellow school bus service for the 2026-27 school year. Service levels and fees are outlined below. Registration is available through your MyCBE account.

Families must apply by Sunday, June 14, 2026 for students to be added to routes for the start of the next school year. We continue to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing bus stop with available space. Processing times for registrations submitted after the June 14 deadline will be delayed. It may take until mid-October before your child is able to ride the bus.

Confirmed routes will be posted in MyCBE in August.  Click here for more information

Speed Cushions on 5th Street

To improve traffic and pedestrian safety near schools, The City of Calgary is introducing a pilot project to install speed cushions and humps to slow traffic at multiple locations. Acadia School has been selected as one of the locations for the pilot.

The City plans to begin work on installation in the next few weeks.

Responsible Digital citizenship reminder

We have heard some students saying they might record one another on their phones and post videos on social media such as TikTok. While this may not be happening, we want to remind students and families about the importance of consent, privacy, and respectful use of technology. Ongoing conversations at home about making thoughtful, responsible choices online help support a safe and caring school community.

CANstruction at Our School!

A reminder that we are still collecting cans and food items for the Calgary Interfaith Food Bank and CANstruction! We begin building on May 26.
